The ranch came with two 50-acre islands in the Yellowstone River. We worked with Trout Unlimited, Montana Freshwater Partners, and Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks in an effort to transfer the islands to the State of Montana to ensure public access and permanent protection of this important resource.
This was an outlying, overlooked series of properties for the former owner, who owned much larger properties elsewhere. When the time came to sell, the owner wanted a quick transaction with a known entity. We had negotiated with the owner years before and knew the property’s plusses and minuses, and were therefore, able to move quickly.
